The New Website has Launched! OMG!!
I owe everyone an apology to start this post off. I didn’t anticipate that i would be redesigning my website this year. But that did happen, and happened as follows.
While i’m studying in Winchester, I’ve discovered that, shit.. I don’t know exactly what i want to pursue once i have completed my degree. (Progress on that is going quite well also having scored my first 66/100 for the semester just a couple days ago.) Pondering that, i started dabbling the idea of doing freelance with various of the media skills i possess, i have gone to workshops, read up on it, had tutorials on it, and found that maybe that would be the most interesting for me with how i view life per present day, to be able to do one task one place, and then have the chance to work somewhere else to do something else, for the sake of variation and opportunity, and not being limited to where and when i work. It sounds tempting if i would able to pull it off.
Being as the website truly is my platform where I can reach and express things and where i truly show my capabilities with media skills. It means the platform has to look good and function in as many ways as possible. And while it looked excellent. I found that a lot of the backend, i had to compromise or compensate to get things the way i wanted visually. And many years ago, i had acquired a new build that i just never bothered to sit down and understand how to make work, yet its the most capable and expansive build i would ever need. So one day while sitting in the Multimedia centre at Uni. I tried putting it up. And started tinkering with a homepage to see if i could make it work. i uninstalled it. got annoyed at myself that i couldn’t make it work. And put the website in a coming soon mode, where its been since. While i’ve been taking my time, and focusing truly on how to build the website right. Which i now have. And i have honestly, hand on heart. Never been as proud of anything i have made and published online as i am of this website. It took all the skill and intuitive learning i’ve had from 8-9 years of online publishing. But its here and its wonderful if you ask me!
So as you might be able to tell. Yeah, this thing has it all. A blog section, a video section, a corporate page for my fledgling Media freelance business, some about sections for the website and such.. oh. AND A FRIGGIN PODCAST NETWORK!!
Yeah thats a thing. To explain, I have been listening to and doing a lot of work around podcasts for a couple years at this point. Being as Podcasts at its core is free to produce and publish, And effectively can be anything you like it to be., as well as advertiser friendly, effectively you are free to make your own radio show once a week. Which is just fantastic, and makes it an excellent creative space, that aligns well with the platforms mission statement of creating whatever, whenever.
Along that way of researching and actually publishing Social Doozy, my own first podcast. I found that often people partake in podcast networks, essentially groups of shows from the same publisher. And seen as i now have built out this platform to take podcasts, As opposed to just producing my own podcast and potentially signing up with some network. I want to keep my creative freedom, and keep my options open. More importantly though, I wanted to extend an olive branch to more people, so they can make their shows without corporate restrictions and we can build and explore options of this relatively new space together as a collective. From that Idea, the aptly and self titled, Kings Eyes Lifestyle Podcast Network was born. With currently 4 shows booked to start launching in the next calendar year. Which is truly exciting!
Launching first of the four is Storm Connect with my buddy EdoNinja. It’s his and truly my own first foray into this space. Its a trial by fire scenario that really excites the both of us. I have never published podcasts before, I have run extensive tests to have it all ready and sorted for launch. But as with any new venture, stuff might happen. Edo has excellent knowledge of producing and the mind of a perfectionist. But not much experience producing this kind of medium.
We are taking painstaking care to make this as great an experience as possible from the get go though! I’m very much looking forward to see what comes of this in terms of numbers and engagement. His efforts and engagement to this point has been absolutely fantastic, and its made this process even more enjoyable! And shoutout to his fanbase, the Storm Clansmen. I see they are excited and hear murmurings frequently about them looking forward to this launching. More on the launch date in the next week or so!
Content wise, I will experiment more with the platform, with publishing all sorts of bits and bobs, feature articles, video content, podcasts obviously, whatever catches my interest and can prove skill in a select area is an option.
I seem to end most of my posts like this these days, but i am so excited to see what may come of this website!
*Jeg skal bli mer flink til å skrive på norsk også! jeg har ikke glemt hvor jeg kommer fra! <3
