Dear United Kingdom
Yesterday was a big day in this country i’m currently staying in. Not just big. Huge, MASSIVE! And about as close to the biggest catastrophe this country has seen since London last was on fire.
Every day i’ve walked to uni since the election was announced, i have had to look at a conservative sign. And without fail, every time, in full view of anyone that would bother to look, i have spat on this sign. And this morning when i woke up, i was more justified in doing so than ever before.
I have a bone to pick with the public here, because yes, Boris and the conservatives won, Labour and Corbyn will be graceful in defeat, but it isn’t about them, this now is an issue that lies squarely on the people. The People of the UK. Faced with Tory leadership, with an incompetent bourgeoisie wank stain at the helm, faced with leaving the European Union, facing an absolutely appaling decrease in the value of their currency as a result, with the aforementioned wank hiding in fridges to avoid questions, wont look at a picture of a terminally ill child not getting the care it needs, who google bombs himself to cover up worse stories that have been written about him, wants to privatise healthcare by selling the NHS to a potential buyer in the most reprehensible incompetent bigot to ever step foot in any political office.
By contrast, Corbyn and Labour, an ideology that brought my own home, Norway to prominence as one of the greatest nations in the world to live. An ideology that statistically and factually takes care of the majority, that gives a fuck about your needs, and has your best interest at heart, and wants to make the country you live in that much easier to live in through proven methodologies.
Faced with all of this, and yet, the majority in the United Kingdom found it in their hearts to vote for an ideology and a set of conditions that means my lovely girlfriend doesn’t know if she is going to be able to afford to breathe anymore because inhalers to combat asthma will cost an annual wage per unit.
Try as i may, I genuinely cannot express in words, the disappointment that has manifested itself in me towards more than 13 million british voters. Who would rather see their own countrymen starve, struggle and ultimately die because conservative bigotry and incompetent politicians in power that will keep you as one of the two major laughing stocks of the world, that you can tweet and complain about to no end. Now thats the future.
Oh that Corbyn guy? The guy with the bright ideas to make your society the best it can be with ideas that are proven historically to work no further away than right across the pond? That guy?? Oh no we simply cannot have that. Thats progressive and positive thinking that could set up the next generations to succeed in a far better way than our ideology can or ever could. We obviously give two shits about the ones that come after us, and the world we leave to them once we pass away in our silk sheets.
That is the message that the majority has decided to put forward to your own countrymen, and to the world with this election. An election that actually without fail will change the country for the far worse.
So congratulations United Kingdom Conservative voters. Congratulations, there has not been a voting group in the world that has shot themselves and their country quite as artfully in the genitals with a machine gun as you did last night since the 2016 US election. That USA is still paying for, still working to try and fix, and ideally will take the first step to fix next week, by impeaching and ridding themselves of the biggest embarrassment to breathe oxygen in the oval office ever. Congratulations. To think i considered getting a dual citizenship.
