Some thoughts and an announcement!

Hey everyone! Ive missed you!

Odd thing to say considering the circumstances, i’ve been quarantined for the past week, with one more week to go. And had every opportunity to tell folks whats up and sit down and write a blog post. But then each and every time I’ve found i stop myself. Do i think i have nothing to write about? No, i’m pretty sure id be wise to actually write something more often than i have been. Do i not have the resources available to write? yes i do actually. More than i’ve had all year i have the resources available to create and produce things for the website and other places, and the time for it too. However, and this is just being brutally honest, I have let my mind be overcome, and let it hinder me from doing anything remotely productive for a while. At least thats how i feel, others might have a different opinion of what I’ve been doing lately, and saying I’ve been productive. To me its felt really far from it.

Since the pandemic hit, the world went into lockdown, and i was forced to leave the UK. I have felt sapped, deflated, unmotivated, and I’ve let it get to me, it still does. even in opening the blog to write a new post i felt as though it was difficult to bother, and this is my baby i’ve worked on for a year that i’m not motivated to create for. that tells you some of the gut punch this has been. I am however not looking for sympathy in writing this, I’m not looking for this post to sound like a pity party, because for one, I’m quarantined by law. not on account of having the damn virus. I don’t. I am writing because i know myself well enough to know that anytime i feel like my mind is weighing heavy with something, i can write about it, manifest my thoughts, and with that try and reset knowing that at the very least i’ve made my thoughts something tangible, and that i don’t really need to ever look at it again. Which truly i don’t. With posts like these, i write them. publish them, and never bother to look at them again. they are catharsis and thats the purpose they serve.

What does the future look like?

What does the future hold with this site though? Whats been going on? Are we affected by the pandemic? Well. i’m a couple weeks shy of renewing the domain, and its been one of the big things I’ve kept up work with now that i’ve been stuck in house for a long time. And for a while i was hoping it could play a role in my dissertation, while that was shot down i have been spurred on by my lecturers to keep up work on it, and that i absolutely shall.

One of the big areas of interest for the website is the podcasts. It’s our main source of content and audience retention, and its slowly but surely getting better, ironing out the kinks, smoothing out production, writing formats and creating content for it is a wonderful activity I feel i’m very invested in, teetering on overly invested in actually. My investment aside, a very big and key thing has happened in that area just recently.

We were informed by our previous podcast hosting provider, that come may 1st, they were upping the prices on their hosting plans. And with our plan, they were going to take away privileges we previously had and therefore intentionally limit us and others on that plan from growth and expansion. When quizzed on this, the provider that shall not be named, rather than suggest upgrading a plan with their hosting services, suggested, borderline implored that we migrate our entire network to somewhere else. Because they would also limit access to existing IP’s we had on their service as an added bonus.

So with them revealing their damning business plan and wonderful customer service in such apparent fashion, i took them up on it, and set about finding a new provider. And I have.

Kings Eyes Lifestyle Podcast Network, has moved from its previous provider, and has found its new, and what should be permanent home on Captivate. a fantastic service with endless opportunities and tools available for this fledgling network to succeed.

However. Simply switching to new hosting provider isn’t all we are doing with the network. Oh no. We are rebranding and giving the entire network a much earned facelift, and its own identity. Rather than it being tied directly to my own identity, Which felt quite like an egocentric title for the venture that at this point is a pretty good size collective of hosts and people, and its ever expanding. With every episode, we strive to Spark Imagination, as imagination Gives Innovation Life.

Ladies and gentlemen, its a privilege to announce that every podcast on our illustrious network, now are published under the banner SIGIL ARTS. And no later than Saturday April 11th, it comes highly recommended to tune into Storm Connect host EdoNinja’s livestream on twitch.tv/EdoninjastormHD, as not only will i personally be competing in the Smash Tournament with the Storm Clansmen, not only will the rest of the Sigil Arts team will be commentating on the tournament. But we will also be announcing the very first content addition to Sigil Arts right there on the stream. You do not want to miss the tournament or the announcement!

See you soon!
