The Miracle that is DDPY
You know that awkward feeling when you try something new. That odd feeling of “I’m not sure this is for me or how its going to help me.” Well. When i started doing this DDPY stuff about 2 months ago, thats the exact feeling i had.
I have never managed to keep to a workout regimen, or actively go to the gym, because in my mind “Life got in the way” this that and the other thing. Then after 8 months of procrastinating it, i finally read the “Positively Unstoppable” Book written by Diamond Dallas Page. To this day i haven’t finished it. Not from a procrastinating standpoint, rather from a “I got so damn motivated that i got up and started doing the workouts” standpoint.
If you look back at some of my posts, you will no doubt have seen a couple where i am just hating my physical appearance on several levels. mainly dealing with having finally after years of eating like a moron and a good year of not moving enough, i had gotten me a gut, I was nearing 90 Kilos, and genuinely hated looking at myself in the mirror without a shirt on. So that was my main goal when i started doing DDPY. I had seen so many positive videos and feedback about its positive effects, and the chance to do it from anywhere, that it was about time to give it a genuine try.
I had given It a previous try back in 2018. But life got in the way for me back then, and doing t on a concrete floor at the time with no mat and or Padding did way more bad then good. Back then i was 82.2 Kilos and listed that as my entering weight. So nearing 90 kilos, and it being Fat. was not pleasant.
However.
I am pleased at this point to report. That last time i measured 4 days ago. I was 82.1 Kilos. I’m lighter now than when i entered Uni. All the while doing it from home on my bedside before i go night night.
Theres still width on my waist, which ill assume is because my muscle mass and fat curves have decreasing and increasing in a perfect parallel. But right underneath it, I feel my core-strength building more and more per exercise. And absolutely more interesting, being male and all. I can feel that the abs are starting to form under there, and with it, ive decided, that once Uni commences again after Christmas, I’m going to focus on the kitchen, getting better at making food in general, but primarily healthy food, and good variety. Which the DDP App also helps quite a bit with, while i wont opt out of Meat, gluten, and such any time soon. Their recipes look damn tasty, that along with, I’m quite honestly annoyed at the amount of shit food I ingest. all the stars are aligning for me to really craft a new skill and make a healthy lifestyle change post christmas. Not in a feverish i have to eat a certain way, or eating separate meals in big evenings. But just generally eating more organic, home produced foods from the bottom up. Which i’m sure is reading my mother will quite enjoy. Ha.
In spirit of that, ill be establishing a cooking category for the blog. So anytime i try making a new recipe, I give the rundown of where i got the ingredients, what it cost, what i was told to do, if i modified anything. A living breathing review in many ways of other folks creations meshed with my own ideas. Maybe even some video involved if i’m a bit lucky!
It fits well with how i run this website actually. Where in its totality, It’s my platform, that I’ve built, bottom up for me to create whatever it is i want to make to publish on my terms, my way. Sounds egomaniacal I know. But much like my body and my life currently. I want control, and freedom to do as i wish whatever that may be. for the last however many posts since before the relaunch, its been about DDP and the program because obviously my own body image has taken more of a hot-seat in my life. and ill strive to keep that a theme in my head for the proceeding years.
Looking Forward to it!
